What are we to do when things seem to be changing around us, and trigger emotional shifts within us? Whether our life is coming together or falling apart we have an opportunity for growth to create a better future or to resist and stay in the past. My foundation for my mind body spirit coaching is a combination of the external (the cause) the internal (the effect) and becoming conscious and balanced to ignite a positive change. Every emotional response is important, our negative emotions are as much teachers as our positive emotions. The more we know and feel what we do not want the more we can create what we want, this is where we master the art of collaboration, within us and within others. Alignment as a result of collaboration is a freedom we often expect, it is unknown, yet most times requires effort, intention and desire to manifest.
"The loneliest moment in someones life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart and all they can do is stare blankly" F.Scott Fitzgerald
When we consider the perspective that the sum of our life experiences allow opportunities for us to connect to our higher self to grow into the fullness of all we can be, we heal our scars and our hearts connecting us to our universal power source. I have often, like so many, experienced these moments and decided to enhance change by defining it as a transition. I have found this reduces my fears around what is happening presently. Transitions also allow some time to create or make a change which makes the phase multi dimensional. It is not the beginning or the ending but the current moment which requires our attention.
Many times in our daily conversations people often project a perception of their past and create a future which uncovers a energetic state of limiting beliefs. A wise teacher once shared with me that when we understand the beauty of accepting life is an illusion, we may release many ties that bind around our mind, body and spirit. Active meditation practice and the theta mind state is a positive mindful way to also release old energies and restore balance. It is empowering to view life as constant change, our decision is to participate or to stare blankly. My holistic approach will measure the proportion to which we allow or resist the effects in a supportive environment. For example when extreme change is experienced I know my emotional sensitivity increases, my triggers this year have been the emotion of grief, sadness, loss from the ending in physical form of long relationships and transition of loved ones back into the non physical. I continue to choose personal development and self compassion for allowing moments of absence and observe and learn from how my environment has been effected by these changes, in myself and in others. My positive perspective returns in appreciation and love.
POSITIVE CHANGES New opportunities and luck are always around the next corner - with optimism and determination. When we create sustainable positive changes, the real heart of the focus and intention comes from the pausing during these transition moments. I once heard a talk which related forced change to experiencing a whiplash effect, in this scenario our emotions should not be ignored or silenced. It is also important to not allow others to create their definition and make them our own: 'You must be so happy. You must feel relieved. You will feel better soon'. This is not magically achieved, it may take practice and also commitment in creating new barriers and boundaries.
More often change is forced upon us directly or indirectly from a negative experience. Our professional, our personal lives are structures of impermanent moments, the ending of a relationship, the loss of a loved one, the loss and challenge from a physical or mental health experience.
Carl Jung's archetype of 'The Wounded Healer' originated with the Greek myth of Chiron who was physically wounded, and by way of overcoming the pain of his own wounds Chiron became the compassionate teacher of healing. This leads me to my journey and my why, the fuel to my passion behind my mind, body, spirit approach to my professional coaching and holistic therapy services.
One thing I know for sure was popularised by Oprah Winfrey as a theme for sharing her extraordinary experiences and wisdom to the masses. One of her top twenty listed is:
'The happiness you feel is in direct proportion to the love you give'.
This resonates as a truth for my accumulation of life experiences, however when things seemingly fall apart how can they fall back together? Many of us place so much energy preventing them from falling apart because of one feeling - Fear.
“Fear is a natural reaction to moving closer to the truth” Pema Chodrun
Let's talk a little about the feeling of resistance, often rationalised and compartmentalised into an emotionless reality. Resistance is an emotional state of being, if not experienced by ourselves then by experiencing it via another persons reaction and or emotional state. Most of us resist success as much as failure, the disproportionate lack of balance across our lives must be released, out of the body, out of our mind and free from our spirit.
Failure is not the opposite of success, it is part of it - Arianna Huffington
