You Tell People Who You Are
This article is inspired by themes discovered from many active conversations with fellow coaches and clients thriving in personal and professional development. Throughout my personal and professional life, I have observed perceptions and projections that created definitions related to a persona. I believe it is always better to change who we are than shift focus onto changing the other person. Whenever we want to change and evolve we will experience layers of resistance.
In one of my coaching sessions I was requested to connect with my core values by focusing on my strengths for the next session. I reviewed a previous myers-briggs personality indicator test.
This personality type tends to see helping others as their purpose in life, but while people with this strength can be found engaging rescue efforts and doing charity work, their real passion is to 'get to the heart of the issue so that people need not be rescued at all’.
I have always found some support in a bumper sticker approach like nothing is impossible. However, even the best car in the world cannot take you to the right place if you do not know where you are going. My next steps were to integrate my findings, create actions, develop behaviours and embody my communication style. I now needed a new sticker reminder and this was sparked by an episode of Suits Jessica Pearson, actor Gina Torres.
These words connected the dots to consciously step into my power. We all live moments, meet new people, grow with people we already know and the constraints of beliefs, religions, cultures, work environments. How we speak, when we speak, how we style, our energy and overall representation. It is shifting the balance between conforming environmentally and authentic expression. This becomes a process of learning and teaching:

To shine and reflect today helps through our influencers who enable positive momentum. A more mindful way to connect to keep pace with our truer version requires clarity, confidence and support. If we base ourselves solely on the reactions of others, we often lose and disconnect from our true potential. As a coach and a manager my intention is to connect individually, a holistic approach. I believe it is through earning trust and supporting this way of being which encourages, supports and nurtures talent. We should all evolve the popular corporate philosophy of right and wrong, to a new perspective of neither right or wrong and open up active dialogue.
